You can create scenarios based on existing scenarios and edit them if you have an Urban license and editing privileges. You can switch between scenarios to compare designs. By default, a project has two scenarios: the existing conditions and the new (future) conditions.
Create a scenario
To create a scenario while editing a project, complete the following steps:
- Click a project in the view or find it in the search panel.
The project editor opens.
- Click the Configure scenarios button in the center of the header.
The Scenarios dialog box appears.
- Click Add scenario.
- Provide a name for the new scenario and choose the existing scenario on which the new scenario will be based.
- Click OK.
The new scenario appears on the Scenarios dialog box.
- Optionally, click the new scenario and add a description, configure a visualization, or a context web scene.
- Click OK.
Lock a scenario
Everyone who can edit a project can lock scenarios. This prohibits users from accidentally editing a scenario.
Note:
You can still edit the name, scenario visualization, scenario context, and description of a locked scenario.
To lock a scenario, complete the following steps:
- Click a project in the view or find it in the search panel.
The project editor opens.
- Click the Configure scenarios button in the center of the header.
The Scenarios dialog box appears.
- Find the scenario you want to lock and click the lock button next to the scenario name.
- Click OK.
The scenario configuration dialog box closes. Identify locked scenarios by the lock icon in the scenario switcher.
Change the scenario order
To change the order of the scenarios in the scenario switcher, complete the following steps:
- Click a project in the view or find it in the search panel.
The project editor opens.
- Click the Configure scenarios button in the center of the header.
The Scenarios dialog box appears.
- Click the scenario you want to reorder and hold the mouse button. Move the scenario to its new position and release the mouse button.
The scenario is moved to its new location.
- Click OK.
The scenario configuration dialog box closes.
Note:
The LOD1 buildings and demolition area of the topmost scenario in the list of scenarios (just below Existing conditions) will be visible in the overview to everyone who has access to the project.
